His knowledge in the elder law and protect yourself and family planning is excellent. Very professional and his staffs welcome you as you are one of family. The moment you walk in you are treated like they have known you for a long time.

In our case we have used his service for more than 17 years. You could not find any firm like Farr Law Firm in this area other than this firm. We are very pleased with the service. We made a right decision. Thank you! The Farr Law Firm's expertise, solid competence, and guidance led us out of our struggle with long-term care.

They were able to help us find financial security and excellent care. Evan and his staff are extraordinary and amazing people who are dedicated to changing lives for the best.

I cannot recommend this firm highly enough for the life-changing results they have made possible. God bless these unique and caring experts. Check out their website. Excellent Law Firm! Very Professional! Evan Farr is very friendly and very knowledgeable!

We have been using Evan Farr in Fairfax for 20 years. It is a comprehensive process You are asked to think about the circumstances regarding when your loved ones should consider a nursing home, if any. You must think about who you want to make health care decisions for you if you cannot make them yourself.

You must state your DNR instructions. They give advice about who to list as beneficiaries for all types of assets. There are so many considerations that you must ponder so that your loved ones are not left with the burden of making these decisions.

It is a collaborative process. It is not boilerplate. Through the years your wishes may change as will your tax situation and the people you chose as trustees and guardians. The Farr legal team has been with us through all of these times. They are able to make legal mumbo jumbo understandable and relatable and they welcome questions. At the end, you will feel satisfied that every situation and issue has been considered.

I am so thankful that we found them. As the owner of three licensed assisted living communities in Virginia, I receive and read a lot of newsletters from the elder care and the elder law community, and I can honestly say that I consider the Farr Law Firm newsletter to be the best of them all. They present timely, interesting, and well-written information that I generally find is not available from other sources.

Articles are informative with a wide range of topical issues facing seniors. They have several offices based in Virginia mainly. Reps and even Mr. Farr are very responsive and provide good advice for the ageing community, in my case. There are very few email newsletters that I choose to receive weekly for more than a year.

I continue subscribing to the newsletter from Farr Law Firm because it so often has information that helps me. Sometimes the help is for me or for one of my relatives. Sometimes it is for clients who contacted me about family mediation. The range of topics addressed and the quality of the information provided have been great. I have just recently met with Mr. Farr and retained him for my own estate planning and elder care advice. My experience has been excellent and he has truly validated all of my referrals to him.

They are courteous to their clients and provide a very intuitive approach to whatever you are trying to accomplish. We went to them and they made sure our needs were thoroughly met. They do an outstanding job of following up with their clients, as well.

The Farr Law Firm was very helpful in updating and adjusting the estate of my elderly mother. Everyone was patient and thorough throughout the process. As a legal colleague in the area of estate planning, I commend Attorney Evan Farr to Virginia residents with complex estate planning needs.

Attorney Farr's erudition in matters involving wills, trusts, estates, and Medicaid asset protection planning is both wide and deep, and he has seen over his long career almost every conceivable estate planning puzzle that a person's life might present.

I have read Attorney Farr's learned responses on Avvo. Put simply, Evan Farr is a credit to Commonwealth of Virginia and its estate planning bar. I am grateful to Evan and his team for their work on reversing the denial of my son's Medicaid case. I was pleased with their knowledge and expertise of what was needed to successfully handle my case.

The fact that I had legal counsel representation made a huge difference in how Medicaid handled the final decision of our case. Connie was wonderful and very thorough and she and Evan kept the case moving expeditiously. I am so pleased with the outcome of this case for my son! Trust law falls primarily to the states. This has left us with a hodgepodge of very different state laws which apply to trusts depending on where a trust is located.

The laws that apply to the administration of a trust that is located in Oregon were very different than the laws that apply to the administration of a trust that is located in Tennessee. NCUSL drafts a uniform law on a particular area, for example adoption, and then promulgates the uniform law, the Uniform Adoption Act, to the states and encourages the states to adopt the uniform law.

The UTC also provides laws for construction and administration of the trust. The Uniform Trust Code provides specific provisions regarding representation, and the purpose of the representation is that, in the event that consents are required or notice is required, certain beneficiaries or certain individuals can bind others who may not have the ability to bind themselves yet.

For example, a parent may represent and bind a minor or even an unborn child so that the trust can be modified in certain circumstances. For example, if a beneficiaries of a trust are a class of children and there is no conflict of interest present regarding a requested change or modification to the trust, then one child could in theory, bind either the unborn children in the class or even the born children who are minor children.

Also, the individual would be a distributee or permissible distributee of trust or income principle if the trust is terminated on a specific date. Qualified power of appointment with regards to the Uniform Trust Code is one of the mechanisms that an individual can use to bind a beneficiary of the trust or represent a beneficiary of the trust. In essence, the holder of a power of appointment may represent and bind those individuals who are permissible appointees or takers in default, which are subject to the power.
