They roll very well although I recommend using a dice tray. Being metal dice, they do not roll as well on hard, smooth surfaces like tables quite as nicely as they do on surfaces with a little give.

Modern metal dice are typically made from a zinc alloy and then plated with a more expensive metal finish. If you keep them in a bag where they can tumble against each other, over time they may develop scratches and scuffs.

The rarer the dice the more valuable they become and collectors will pay for them although the prices are not too excessive yet. To use, dampen a cotton swab with and rub it gently on the inside of the item being tested.

If it is Bakelite, the swab will turn yellow. If a piece is lacquered, it may test negative with Round edge dice are made as sharp edge dice in factories.

They then polish them in a tumbler to create the rounded edges. This means that the dice are never truly the same size on any side and sometimes factory dice end up being entirely different sizes depending on how long the dice were tumbled. This in itself creates randomness to the dice since no die will ever be shaped the same.

The same can be said for most handmade sharp edge dice. Handmade sharp edge dice can have some faces sanded or polished more than other sides, creating a slight difference in overall weight distribution. However, this is usually not an issue when rolling. Gamescience dice are factory made sharp edge dice made by injection molding, but are never tumbled, making them more precisely weighted than round edge dice. They are also sold without ink in their numbers.
